Development of Technologies
to Address Energy-Related Problems

My research interests are in the general areas of practical combustion devices and the utilization of solid and liquid fuels, as well as in the development of alternative fuel resources. I am interested in applying fundamental knowledge obtained through experiments and modeling at different scales to solve challenging industrial problems related to the areas mentioned above. I pursue experimental research to provide a greater understanding of chemical and physical mechanisms of pollutant formation and control (both homogeneous and heterogeneous), and to determine the thermal characteristics of both traditional and alternative solid and liquid fuels. This knowledge, understanding, and detailed experimental data can then be used in the development and validation of computational models, as well as in the development of energy technologies.
